Bugle Greenspace (BuGs) is a dynamic and committed volunteer led group. It works at community and strategic levels to maintain, manage and develop green and community spaces within Bugle and surrounding areas for the enjoyment of existing and future generations. It provides opportunities for local people to improve their open spaces through regular events.
BuGs was formed in 2008 by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated local residents who have a diverse range of skills and knowledge. It became a constituted not-for-profit organisation in April 2009. Since its formation, it has engaged with over 45 volunteers at six events and has already regenerated two greenspaces within Treverbyn Parish.
BuGs has also attracted more than £2,000 worth of funding to the community and provided volunteering, accredited training and skills development to two local people. Additionally BuGs has gained credibility with and support from the local media, with every event receiving coverage and committee members being asked to provide comment on a variety of ecotown issues.
