Who are Bugle Greenspace?

Bugle Greenspace (BuGs) is a dynamic and committed volunteer led group.  It works at community and strategic levels to maintain, manage and develop green and community spaces within Bugle and surrounding areas for the enjoyment of existing and future generations. It provides opportunities for local people to improve their open spaces through regular events.

BuGs was formed in 2008 by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated local residents who have a diverse range of skills and knowledge.  It became a constituted not-for-profit organisation in April 2009.  Since its formation, it has engaged with 76 volunteers at seven events and has already regenerated three greenspaces within Treverbyn Parish.

BuGs has also attracted more than £2,250 worth of grant funding and over £4,000 of gifts in kind to the community and provided volunteering, accredited training and skills development to two local people.

Importantly, it has inspired in to action another grass roots volunteer group in a nearby village, demonstrating that enthusiasm and empowerment are contagious. Additionally BuGs has gained credibility with and support from the local media, with every event receiving coverage and committee members being asked to provide comment on a variety of ecotown issues.

Bugle Greenspace is open to anyone (see the Get Involved page of our website). Click here to see a copy of BuGs constitution.
