The Eco Towns

Where it all Began...
This is where Community Greenspace all started!  In 2008
the government announced that one of the sites for the proposed Eco-Town development would be the Goonbarrow Refinery works in Bugle.  Whilst supporting the demolition and redevelopment of the refinery works themselves, Bugle Greenspace did not want the green fields that border Bugle to be built upon. Instead we proposed that they are used to benefit the local community by providing green space for different activities.  After canvassing opinions from local people on how they would like the land to be used, Bugle Greenspace approached Imerys who were leading on the development of the proposed site.
